On Feb. 4, Amboy Lady Clipper Abi Payne needed 14 points in the game to reach the 1,000-point mark in her career. Payne had 11 points at halftime. It didn’t take long in the third quarter before she made a three-pointer to give her 1,000. During the next timeout, the announcement was made and Payne was presented with a poster. After the game, she was presented a basketball that included the writing: Abi Payne, 1000+ points, Feb. 4, 2020, Amboy Lady Clippers. Payne ended the contest with 18 points, seven assists and five steals.
